CAMBODIA

Going Missional in

I'm a veteran of mission trips and often witnessed sickness befall mission trippers right before we set off. It has happened to me before, and I was not surprised it happened again. Three days before the Cambodia mission trip, I contracted a flu virus. I quickly mobilised my intercessors to pray. When one of them was praying, I felt a tingling sensation in my throat, which lasted a few minutes. My sore throat was gone shortly after. On the 5.5 hours flight from Perth to Singapore, God's grace was so evident as my two preschoolers were on their best behaviour. I felt really sick the day before the mission trip and asked my intercessor if I should delay my trip. He received Zechariah chapter 3, of which verse 8 was the most significant. "'Listen, High Priest Joshua, you and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come: I am going to bring my servant, the Branch."

I was to be the Christ-bearer, to bring the Branch (Jesus) into Cambodia. Zechariah 3:9 also says "… I will remove the sin of this land in a single day." My intercessor believed that my illness will be gone in a single day! So we believed. I was awaken a few times through the night, and every time I woke, I could feel my body getting better. By the time morning came, I felt so much better and infused with faith to begin this mission trip.
