Family
Life Ministry (FLM) of Faith Community Church (FCC) seeks to provide a
biblically – based, family support and encouragement service that is available
to members and regular attendees of this local church.
Family
Life Ministry serves as a specialized support ministry to our cell system.
I.
Our
Objectives:
1.
To meet people’s needs by providing pastoral
care and counselling.
2.
To bring people into a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ and to help them find forgiveness
and relief from the crippling effects of sin and guilt.
II.
Our
Services:
1.
Lay Christian Counselling
Our counsellors are available to help
any individual or family with needs in the area of:
a. Family Issues: Premarital counselling, marital problems, family problems
b.
Other Issues: Career and financial counselling, deliverance and inner healing
2.
Educational Programs
We organise the following programs
periodically through FCC/Arrows Training School:
a.
Seminars and forums on family life
b.
Courses on stress management, personal
development, conflict mediation and other related topics eg financial, career
c.
Talks and workshops on youth-related issues
such as sexuality education, handling peer pressure, etc.
III.
Our Staff:
1.
Our counsellors consist of the Pastoral Team
and committed volunteers who actively share and support the goals and mission
of the church.
2.
Our counsellors offer assistance in
integrating the counselee’s background, personality and circumstances into a
biblical style of living.
IV.
The Role
Of The Cell Group In Family Life Ministry
A cell group, in a cell – based
church, is the basic pastoral care unit. As such, the first line of
counselling, whenever needed, is carried out at the cell level. Where
necessary, referrals will then be made to the Family Life Ministry through the
Zone Supervisor and/or Cell Leader.
