“For God’s glory, we want to multiply strong, intentional disciple-making cell-churches committed to love God passionately and love people practically through the apostolic strategy of church-planting in Perth and the nations beyond.”
Key Distinctives:
+“For God’s glory”
This is the starting point of our purpose because everything is for His glory alone.
+“strong”
We are seeking not just to be big but to be strong. We are asking not just “How many members do we have?” but “What kind of members do we have?”
The way to build a strong house is to make sure that the 5 apostolic pillars of the Worship, Prayer, Discipleship, Ministry and Outreach are firmly erected upon the firm foundation of God’s Living Word.
The main role of the pastoral team is to constantly imbibe, inculcate and inspect to ensure that these pillars are strongly in place.
+“intentional disciple-making”
Our purpose is to intentionally make disciples; through followers of Christ. This is what the Great Commission is all about – to make disciples of all nations. The operative word here is “intentional”.
+“cell churches”
Faith Community Church is essentially a disciple-making cell-based church. It is our responsibility as a pastoral team to intentionally move the church into the cell-based mindset and methodology.
This is the only way for mobilization to take place in order to fulfill the vision of seeing a network of 6 disciple-making cell churches by the Year 2020.
+“love God passionately”
This can only become a reality when our members know the Lord deeply through personal encounters and express that love passionately through their love for worship, prayer and the Word. These are the three apostolic pillars that connect with the mind and the heart.
+“love people practically”
Through the pillars of discipleship, ministry and outreach; we develop those who will love not just in words but in action. It is through practical love that the wall between the church and the community can come down.
+“apostolic”
We believe that the church advance through the apostolic – when disciples are sent to plant and to build. Without the apostolic, we will become inward looking and parochial.
But with the apostolic, we will pioneer and advance the purposes of God and move the church into the cutting-edge of what the Holy Spirit is doing today.
+“church-planting”
Through local church-planting, we will release more of the gifts and talents in our congregation and mobilize greater resources for kingdom advance.
Church-planting also serves to spread the influence of the Kingdom all over the City of Perth locally and globally in the nations beyond like East Timor.
