After a great conference on Israel and the church, Pastor Peter Tsukahira brought another wonderful insight about God and His Kingdom.

The Kingdom of God is about the sovereignty of God. He manages His Kingdom with perfect decisions that are perfectly timed. He’s a Sovereign who is personal and up close and is concerned with the intimate details of our lives.

In His decisions, God chooses people who will accomplish His purposes. The moment He makes a choice, He automatically rejects everyone else. (This principle is not only true of individuals but also true of the chosen nation of Israel). Humanly, this can be difficult to accept especially if we feel that we can do a better job or have the gifting to accomplish His purposes. For some, this can be a stumbling block to what God has in store for them.

Speaking from Matthew 15, Ps Peter Tsukahira, taught how the Canaanite woman did not take offence but accepted the fact that Israel was first on Christ’s agenda. She honoured that choice and humbled herself before Christ and asked for the healing of her daughter. Christ saw faith in all of her actions and granted her desire!

When we accept His choices of people and the nation of Israel as His chosen nation, we are telling God that we accept His sovereignty over us. With a posture of humility and honour of those over us, God will in His time, choose us and give us all that He has in store for us!
